heyhey!

finally im sitting here writing my first blog in 2011. i cant believe it for myself dudes but time runs fast these days. 2011 started very good for me! i was just working on some freelance projects in the early jannuary when i got a mail from my future boss telling me that he is searching for a new graphic designer in his agency. so we met up and things looked very good so i took this opportunity and took the job. at first it was a huge change spending most of my time in the agency. its clear that i now dont have that much time for my boicut stuff anymore. but as you can see theres still time for some new stuff. here are some pics that give you some insight of what i did over the last weeks. theres also some supernice upcoming projects as for example the boicutXfixdich colabo. therefore i will paint/customize a track bike frame and danny from fixdich will finsih the bike with a custom set up.i hope you are as excited as i am! some of you might have already seen the blank frame! hell yeah! at the moment im working on a concept and thinking about the colors

gain // type stuff

hey there!

i hope you guys enjoy the weekend! today is rocketboys birthday. she is one of my best friends and i know her for ages. so i wanted to give her something personal.
she is an awesome singer btw. some weeks ago she showed me a coversong she recorded. the song is called gain from b. fleischmann. i like the original version of him but i love the cover rocketboy did! so i thought i will make some kind of poster with the chorus lines and put an illustration on the back that fits to the lyrics but also to her.
so heres the result:

 

while i did this it felt like the birth of something new. i have plenty of this 100x70cm sheets so im thinking of doing more of this handtype/illustration posters especially to improve my  handlettering skills. what do you think?

i had a pretty busy weekend with cleaning my flat and switching almost every furniture. i felt tired of my one so beloved walls over the years and needed kind of a “tapetenwechsel”. now im happy again coz it feels like things are at its perfect place again. big thanks to n. btw! it wouldnd have been possible without you…
anyway – today i started working again on several things and its was fun! i did some handwriting stuff for a running project. heres a detail shot:

CUSTOM MESSENGER BAG

hey dudes!

due to riding my bike every day and everywhere i someday got tired of always pushing my old sportbag which i used for carrying my stuff back to my back again and again. i searched the net for messenger bags and a friend told me about a hungarian company called bagaboo. their big USP is that you can customize almost everything when ordering a bag. some weeks ago i finally sent them my logo & selected the desired colors of the bag. it took some weeks till i got the bag but you have to know that this is a very small company with 3 guys (i think) trying to make best quality products. when i got the box from the postman i was excited like a small kid before xmas this was 10 days ago and i used the bag everyday. i´ve ordered the bag with some extras like a padded back, an u-lock holder and compression straps with are very useful when u dont have too much to carry. im not that experienced with messenger bags since this is my very first on but i love it! i carried all kinds of stuff beginning with just a second shirt, some cans of beer to my sound system for my computer including a subwoofer and it never has been uncomfortable and always stayed rugged on my back. puh..pretty much wordst! to say it shortly: bagaboo did a great job & i love my bag!

NITE-IN // vernissage

hey dudes!

i had a great vernissage evening last thursday! i didnt expect that much people. i had nice conversations plus lots of beer at the end
here are some pics ole from typischbeton took just to get that feeling! i will do more from the exhibited stuff this week! the exhibition runs till november, 6th!

over the past weeks i didnt post this much. one big reason is my upcomming solo show @ inoperable gallery/vienna. i´ve done a lot of things so far but theres pretty much to do the next couple of weeks! i hope this info reaches you soon enough so that you still have some empty space in your calendar! it would be nice if you´d drop by and have a beer (or 2) with me!

17th boulevard // single design

yo!
today i finally got the single from 17th boulevard. you should check them out! i was already working on their full length album design when they asked me to make a single. this is the outcome. their full length is planned for fall´10 and i am really looking forward because i tried to make a typographical delicacy while sitting on their lyrics. on the back of the single theres a sneak preview of it. here are some pics:
